The Arts Society Sidmouth (TASS)

The Arts Society Sidmouth (TASS) is a friendly and welcoming community for people who share an interest in the arts, culture, and lifelong learning. Since 1990, we have produced, annually, an inspiring programme of lectures, events, and visits, providing opportunities to learn, connect, and enjoy the arts together at the Manor Pavilion. 

At the heart of our society is a strong sense of friendship and community. Our monthly lectures by Arts Society accredited speakers are an eclectic mix of the arts in the broadest sense. TASS organises biannual special interest days as well as visits, and social occasions, making membership both stimulating and enjoyable. As a Charitable Incorporated Organisation, we are also committed to supporting the arts locally and encouraging a wider appreciation of the important role creativity plays in community life. 

Meet us at the Manor Pavilion, Sidmouth, on the first Wednesday of the month (October to June) from 10.00am for coffee and a chat beforehand. The hour-long lectures begin at 10.40am. We welcome members, guests, and visitors alike, and we hope you will join us in celebrating the arts, sharing new experiences, and becoming part of our community.

VISITS:
In 2026 we held a visit to Ashley Court, where we were hosted by the energetic and enthusiastic young owners. With coffee on arrival, lunch from the garden produce and free time we were blessed by sunshine to rest or explore the grounds in the afternoon. Plans are underway for a further visit this year (of which more in the Newsletter). We always welcome suggestions from members for sites of interest for us to consider in future.

The Constitution, updated with the amendments approved at the 2019 AGM, has been added to this site and it, along with the Safeguarding Policy which we have been asked by the Charity Commission to adopt, can be seen by clicking the appropriate wording above.
